Four-sided culverts, commonly referred to as box culverts, are some of the most versatile precast concrete products in the market. Box culverts are suitable for applications such as underpasses, tunnels, subways, bridges, stream culverts, material handling, storage, and more. Oldcaslte Infrastructure catch basins are engineered to resist corrosive elements and withstand volumes of water inside as well as extreme loading conditions outside. Our box culverts are manufactured in a variety of sizes with standard and customizable designs to accommodate your project. Split box culverts, also known as a cantilever wall design, utilize two separate pieces to create the four-sided box shape. Each type of split box culvert starts with at least one three-sided ?U” and then incorporates either a single slab or a second, inverted ?U” to complete the box. Split box culverts are installed vertically and have the added benefit of being lighter and easier to transport. Because they come in separate pieces, split box culverts do not always require the same large trucks and cranes as their monolithic counterparts; this makes them an ideal solution for remote locations.
